CoreStones are massage tools made from soapstone, one of nature’s most efficient thermal conductors. They retain heat and cold longer and more evenly than many other stones, providing consistent warmth (or cold) throughout your treatment. Soapstone is also non-absorbent, making it hygienic and easy to maintain, while its naturally silky-smooth texture feels luxurious on the skin.
In addition to their physical benefits, soapstone is also believed to have grounding and calming energetic properties that may help promote inner peace and positive energy during your treatment.

Each appointment will be different with stone application. CoreStones are guided tools for the therapist to incorporate into the massage appointment by utilizing the heat and cold as needed based on individual needs and area of application.
- How is this different than a Hot Stone Massage?
Traditional hot stone massage most commonly uses basalt stones, a smooth volcanic rock. These stones are typically heated in water and and are primarily focused on relaxation by placing stones on the body or incorporated into flowing movements.
CoreStones are used as an extension of the therapist’s hands to provide more focused therapeutic treatment although some stones can be used for lighter application, these are ergonomically shaped to best assist the therapist to aid in their techniques. - When do you need to use the stones in our massage?
Heat and cold therapy may be incorporated into your treatment in any area as needed to help support the body’s natural healing response.
Heat is commonly used in relaxing muscles, reduce tension, improve circulation, and allows deeper treatment, including myofascial release, with greater comfort.
Cold therapy can help decrease inflammation, calm irritated tissues, reduce swelling, and provide relief to acute or sensitive areas.
When used together, heat and cold contrast therapy can help stimulate circulation, encourage recovery, and support the reduction of pain and tension. Your treatment will be customized based on your individual needs, comfort level, and treatment goals. - Does this cost more to add to my massage?
No, my price is a reflection to my practice. My experience and tools are therefore included in pricing and don’t need to worry about add on costs or if your insurance will cover it. You are billed for the appointment as a whole. (Unless upgrading your oil/aromatherapy)
Noted – typical hot stone also takes a lot longer for cleaning purposes which is reflected as part of the cost/time for those treatments. With the CoreStones I am able to clean them between each appointment with ease, allowing me to balance out my time within my pricing.
