Pregnancy is a beautiful part of life, but challenging on bodies. Expanding abdominal, growing breasts, and postural changes place increasing stress on your back, hips, legs and shoulders
Here are some recommendations and basic FAQ’s re: booking a prenatal massage
- Is it safe to get massage while pregnant?
YES!!! Unless your doctor has said anything different to you based on specific medical concerns, massage is a beautiful and well appreciated aid through your pregnancy. Some prefer to avoid certain aspects during their first trimester due to the delicate timing, but as a professional I am comfortable knowing my boundaries and what is safe for you and your little one(s). - How do I get a massage while pregnant?
As long as you feel comfortable on your stomach and back we can proceed in normal positions until you feel otherwise. As you progress you will be bolstered to lay on your side with supports, pillows and additional towels for draping, switching sides during the massage. My table also folds into a semi-seated position which allows ease, comfort & support while massaging certain areas. Depending on device, may need to click images below to see positions

- How often should I book for pregnancy massage?
Unless there is a specific issue we are treating that would execute a treatment plan you can book as you need. It is very common that by the third trimester most of my moms are coming in every 2-3 weeks, and frequent into every 1-2weeks into the end stages to help with comfort and sleeping.
Pleas note: in 2nd/3rd trimester an hour is not always enough time for a full body massage due to time needed for positioning etc, 75 or 90 min is highly recommended by 3rd trimester unless the hour is to focus on certain areas only to aid in back & hip pain etc, but can be discussed in consultation or as we work together during your pregnancy. - Is it safe to add cupping or aromatherapy to my massage?
Yes! Some aromatherapy oils are avoided specifically, but others are great compliments to pregnancy. These details are listed in the aromatherapy page. Cupping can be added, but avoided the abdomen.
